Gentlemen In this very secret hangar, on a more secret military swiss-airforce-base , strange things happen! My aircraft for the GAAR 2017 receives a new painting, and then she will be dismantled and stored into containers for an cargo-flight to Darwin.. more? I can't say!! Day X has to come to hand! A huge AN-124 arrived, my poor plane is ready in containers to be loaded into the cargo hold. I have rented a helicopter to take part of the AN-124 departure.. Heavily laden, the big bird is lining-up.. .. and taking off into a perfect swiss wintersky! Lac de Neuchatel on the left and Lac Morart are waving good bye.. Overhead the french-speaking part of Switzerland - in the back you see the Lac Leman! Well, the Swiss-alps with Lac de Gruyere.. here in this region, you will find the very best chees-fondue!! Fly well AN-124, take care and bring my baby save to Darwin.. see you there!!

Gentlemen! As you know, my next year GAAR C-47 will be pieced together in Darwin - but I need some CASH to pay my RALLY 2017 expenses and other fun - like BBQ's etc.. etc..!! Therefore I attempted to find a job! Not easy here in Oz.. but I found one as pilot within a shady air freight company.. The airplane looks a bit old and shabby but at least it's a C-47, the engines are overhauled and I need some flight-training too! Here you see me at Corowa Airport (NSW), trying to steer that aeroplane out of position! Destination: Narrandera (NSW) to spend New Year's Eve with a huge party and firework! By the way: in my cargo compartment slumbers 7 boxes of high explosive firework... Takeoff runway: nummero 23, a short backtrack and lining-up! Checklist is completed.. .. off I go! 10.3 tons raises into the air... .. going up to 5000ft QNH - nice VFR wx! Passing the Murray-River northbound! To the west lies Lake Urana, the Lake Urana Nature Reserve and the Urana district is used for raising sheep and for growing wheat and other grain crops. Going down to appr altitude 2500ft QNH - only a few miles to go! NO "Airfield Noise Protection Order" here! Overhead the city of Narrandera! The town is located adjacent to the Murrumbidgee River.. .. and the aerodrome was acquired in 1940 as a station for the Royal Australian Air Force's.. After 44min flight-time, back on ground.. .. via dusty taxiways.. .. to the ramp! Shutting down the engines is an extravaganza matter! Well then.. My explosive Cargo is off the aircraft belly.. thankfully! So what else I can say? HAPPY NEW YEAR and all the best! Cheers Urs
