leg 18 flying across "civilised" land, a few lakes with nice little islands, houses, billabongs, ranches, farms,... southern cross means southern "grass cross"...lol my bird in wonderful shape, me a little melancholic,...this race comes to an end... take off: target:

On a long final into Jundee (leg 14). GAAR 2009. DC-3. Two monitors showing my typical layout for most flights. Left (second monitor) showing: FSnav, engine controls, spot plane view that can be switched to virtual cockpit view and E6-B wind calculator. On the right the main monitor with cockpit view. leg 19 my "heavy bird" starts clumsy from the grass airstrip flying across pretty landscapes, flat,fields, some lakes,... a little bumpy but excited towards the breathtaking Perth and a fantastic firework at Jandakot,...just outrageous ending.... tired but happy landing therefor 3 last screenies.... thanks for this wonderful event !!!!

Once I realised - quite early - that I wasn't going to keep up with Alberto, Ed and Zed I went a bit daft with Irfan during the event. I had far too many to cull - so here's three of the 085 Miles Gemini:
