I have found a couple of problems with the pirep system. 1. I find the system very slow, up to 3 mins to download pages. 2. I submitted a time "126.81" for leg 4 but I find the time changed to "102.81". Could someone please amend the time to the correct time for my leg 4.
Regards
Barry GAAR-042

Barry, et al,
I have noticed the PIREP system has been slow today for no reason. I will amend your flight time.
In future, if anyone has any PIREP amendments, please send an email to gaardirector(at)hotmail.com. This will ensure I get the requirement to correct something.

I also can not connect to the PIREP link. It seems like anything trying to connect to the URL "SIMLOGBOOK.COM" does not work.

It looks like the PIREP server is down. I will try and contact Todd and see what is happening. The PIREP system is hosted on Todd's server, hence the gaar.simlogbook.com address.

Guys murphies law seems to have bitten me on the proverbial. The server is up and running fine BUT my internet provider has decided that now is the time to mess with my upstream connection, hence no-one can get to the pirep system.
I've arranged for the site to be hosted offsite in a commercial hosting environment but it might not be up and running for another few hours.
Apologies for all the hassles but bare with me and we should all be good by the end of the day.
Cheers

Hi Todd,
Everything was working great until I hit the button for posting a new PIREP and I got a runtime error. Here is a copy of what the error says:
Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error
Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.
Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->
<configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web> </configuration>
Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.
<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->
<configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web> </configuration>
Thanks,
Ed Bleck GAAR 74

Hi Ed, The links on the main gaar site are still pointing to the old host at the moment. Try connecting directly to simlogbook.com and try submitting again

All,
The PIREP link has been updated on the GAAR web site. I would like to thank Todd Whitehead for all his efforts today in getting the PIREP system back online.
In light of what has happened, PIREP reporting for Flight Leg 2 is extended by 24 hrs to 2359 hrs UTC, 07 Feb 09.
