Welcome aboard Jon. I think you will find this crew to be crazy enough to keep you grinning. And hey, isn't procrastinating about the steed for the event one of the good bits?

. Capt Zlogg: Are you the famous author of that fine WWII tome, " Samovar Aircraft Are Missing"? Comrade Oshkosh Obviously you are a connaisseur! Did you read my standard work "Throw your balalaika's in the air" (14th century string movements for violin & men in tutu explained)? cheers Capt Zlogg vp KGB Air Droppers (cows, elephants & rhinos) chef director Volgograd Symphony (on request only)

Why do all rally creators feel the necessity to have flights start at a runway, electricals and engines started? I never fly that way and It seems easier for the non-purists to hit the battery and "CTRL+E" than it does for me to get the aircraft C&D, at a parking spot? Although I realize this is all about the flight...I ALWAYS start C&D at a parking spot. Captain America, Your point whilst valid, doesn't take into account the multitude of different scenery set ups participants can have on their computers. I indeed am a purist like you, however, please apply some logic to the thought process here. As the creator, organiser or call me what you will, I have no idea what scenery set up you have on your particular version of MSFS. Furthermore, I have no more of an idea or the capability to cater for the scenery set ups of all other participants. Some add-on third party sceneries make corrections to runway alignments, ramp parking, etc. Some standard MSFS airports don't even have ramp parking at all and only provide runways. Consequently, "rally creators feel the necessity to have flights start at a runway, electricals and engines started", as you put it, only because they need to create scenarios to cater for everyone, based on a standard installation of MSFS. For purists like you, I also then adjust the position of my chosen aircraft to a suitable position and in a "cold and dark" situation and continue from there.

Whatever the case, we will once again show the "small red man" what we Kapitalists are capable of. Captain America Capt. Yankeevich We have seen that in the results of the DCA World Rally and rest our case. Good luck with your imitation Li-2 ;D cheers Capt. I have a question regarding paint jobbies:
Does a BGA paint for the venerable and thrice-lovely MAAM Dakota (we're talkin' "Cargo" here) exist? And if so, can someone direct Cousin Weak Eyes here to yon location thereof?

It should be there if it wasn't lost in AVSIMs meltdown. If not let me know and I'll try and get it to you. First go here www.maam.org/flightsim/enhance/r4d_enhance.htmSearch the page for Bluegrass which takes you here www.maam.org/flightsim/enhance/r4d_enhance.htm#BLUEGRASS%20AIRLINES%20REPAINT%20TEXTURESDownload and have fun.

My favorite bird, I'm flying it in the GAAR for the first time so I am flying it as is, no paint changes. Also since this an International rally as you will notice I left my gun crews at home. Now I can start putting my better pictures if any in screenshots.

Capt Zlogg, I have already selected my planes for GAAR 2010, a Cessna 195 and a Beachcraft D18s. My query to you about a plane was for GAAR 2011. I have been studying your proposal and it is quite a package. However, I need you to un-bundle some of the items. I have a long term contract with my navigatrix and her raised eyebrow and side-long glance indicated that I did not need the navigating services of a young whipper-snapatrix. Your supply of aircraft is good, but I think the IL-2 has been over exploited in other games, and I could not bear to replace my beloved R4D-6R You did get my attention with the I-16. Ever since I was a young lad I have thought that it had a very unique shape. But with my meager flying capabilities I doubt that I could handle it on the short grass strips in the GAAR, especially with the souped up engine. But I was tempted. As far as books are concerned, I tend to favor the less classical tomes of Clive Cussler, bound in paper. The plane that I am quite interested in is the Yak-18T, but my sources tell me that it is a completely new design, flying in 1967. I may have to get a waiver to fly it in GAAR 2011. And I would be very pleased to get a rare autographed picture of Babushka. Things are kind of tight here in Idaho these days. I was wondering if you would be interested in taking a generous amount of our wonderful Idaho potatoes in trade? Cheers from KCOE. Allen

Andrew, The pilot roster as I see it hasn't been started yet, being updated last on 1st Jan. Is this correct, or have I got a snag in my system somewhere?

Mr. pterodactyl I have been testing out some of the up-coming destinations for the GAAR 2010. I am flying my old R4D-6 and am not such a good pilot so that I sure have to work at setting down safely on those short grass strips It will be interesting to see how you do with that great big beautiful old bird .of yours. All the best Bud

Hi Allen, still mulling that one over. Leaning towards the DH-89 or maybe the Chipmunk. Who knows, it might end up being something totally different. \ Ed

(With a DH104 Dove entered) Rattler, Thanks for keeping me on my toes and I'm glad my Avatar has returned. There is nothing wrong at your end. Registrations have been a little slow so I have held back to do a major upload of the Roster as well as the Target Times, Flight Briefings, Flight Situation files and weather information. I have also been doing a final quality control check on everything, but I know as soon as I do that an error will appear in the next day or so. Everything will be posted to the web site later today 15 Jan 10. Mate, it's good to see you are as keen and eager as ever before and I look forward to being able to take a breather and enter into the banter with you all.
