On the basis that Sydney has now passed into December 22nd, the management would like to point out to Ancient Mayan members of Bluegrass that their subscription for the next 5,000 odd years now falls due. As the Ancient Mayan Financial Director has long since retired, I can't read the terms of Mayan membership, so we'll have to accept any payments on an honour basis. Any sacrificial hand maidens supplied will be put to work in the company canteen preparing the Christmas dinner.

Ed,
We'll put some in an airmail envelope and get it off to you. We've had more than enough this year. I'm sure our mid-atlantic members can top our totals.

Ed, you can have our rain, too. Hampshire has had far too much of the stuff lately - makes me glad I no longer have the daily commute.

Sunshine Coast Forecast for Sunday
A shower or two. Light to moderate SE to NE winds.
Precis: Shower or two. Max 29
UV Alert from 7:40 am to 3:50 pm, UV Index predicted to reach 13 [Extreme]
Monday Morning shower. Min 20 Max 28 Tuesday Fine, mostly sunny. Min 19 Max 30 Wednesday Shower, possible storm. Min 19 Max 29 Thursday Shower, possible storm. Min 20 Max 28 Friday Shower, possible storm. Min 20 Max 30 Saturday A shower or two. Min 21 Max 31
Today's wx info; typical. Sure the showers fall, but very scattered and not on our patch. We have had 50mm since October 1 and the sun can gobble that up in a single sitting. "Will you water the veggies Ed?" "Yes dear" Good thing we have a bore, if we had to rely on our rain tank (our main supply) the vegetables would be crisp indeed. Thanks for the offers of help fellas.

Here in Northern Alabama, we have been watching rain fall on those portions of Alabama along the Gulf Coast and plenty of rain and some snow in Tennessee. Any clouds headed our way dissipate within 50 miles. I even see this in FS. I take off to the south and see blue skies. Turn north and get near the Tennessee border and the clouds close in. We have had some periods of rain. But they are brief. So we're not trying to grow anything this time of year anyway.
Sunny skies are nice. Surviving the 2012 apocolypse is ok too!

Never Generalize! Now I see a forecast for the week and it is for considerable cloudiness and rain all week! Of course I still have shopping to do.

To begin with- we've been able to purchase an antena for about 75 USD, which is really 800 pesos. It picks up all internet signals within 3km, but maybe it really only picks up signals wihtin 500 meters- don't know why or who came up with that figure. Anyway, been working with it for several days, in fact we started using it the day the world ended- just in the nick of time!
The weather here has been prettyy much clear with very good vis, but cold, and the day the world ended it was quite windy. In fact the early mornings, like 4 oclock to about 8:30, it is really cold. But no ice, and no snow. Ice here is possible tho.
Finally, well, I don't remember. But on that note- having problems flying FS. I do a lot of stupid things that I've never done before. I forget what altutude I've been cleared to when step climbibg or descending by ATC, once forgot to confirm the gear was down and landed geat up. Took off last week in the DF727, went thru the complete procedure- field relays, bus tie breakers, frequency adjusyments- the whole ball of wax. Except for one little thing. Never close the generator breakers. It's on the After Start Checklist. It's confirmed on the Taxi Checklist. Oh yeah, three (3) big yellow lights on the F/E' panel. So, well, you guessed it. Took-off, climbing thru the overcast and snow, then BINGO! All instruments shut down.Didn't even switch the Essentail Power switch from the APU (shutdown) to the battery. Managed to get one engine started, and landed at the nearest suitable field. Flight Manager, thf Fuzz (FAA), were very unhappy wit me. And other stuff. Well, listen, hope you all enjoy the holidays however it is you wish to enjoy them. We're doing just fine here on the "ranch." lour.
