I guess that going from the "real thing" to mama's kitchen table, even with all the bells and whistles, I am so bored with FS I haven't flown since, mmmm, well, the last time. There's no bounce, no co-pilots arguments or screw-ups, just push buttons and fly from here to there.till you get there. Waiting for the newly programed DC10 to come out from HJG, but that could be some time. But, when it comes right down to it, what difference does it make whether you "fly" a 744 or a DC9 or a whatever. Play a lot of Age of Empires, but I always win- boooring. Rad a lot of Stephen what's his name, Hawking- that's it. Any good train sims out there, Anything. Don't have enough, or good land to farm. Plus its all rocky- firgit the ranch thing. I do think I have the strength to saddle a horse. The sex thing is a vague remember from a life long ago. The beer is good in Mexico, but American whiskey is the only affordable real drink. No good wines, Malt liquor is expensive. My boy, and my daughter (when she vistits) are tired of hearing me repeat the same old stories over and over. Oh, I digress (again) Is it perfume from a dress that makes me digress? Oh- by th way- my boy paid for me to get my eyes operated on- they removed the cataracts and implanted corrective lenses behind the, mmmm, front of the eye. AMAZING how sharp, and vright, I can see- up close and at a distance! Lou.

and aso- I think the key to that is don't fire on another ship if there is a destoyer around; in other words- don't get sunk! hahahaha I will see if I can find it tho Thanks! Lou.

Real problem is the German sub radar is behind development compared to the allies .Later in the war the PBY's , Sunderland's seaplanes and B-24 Bombers are on you about the time you get under ,they radio every destroyer around IF they do not sink you. Early in the game the Hurricans , an Spitfires get a shot , but there not as deadly. The destroyers have just listening hydro phones but as the game progresses so does the sonar on both sides, you have to sink so much tonnage to move up to better class subs, equipment , even crewman have to be assigned stations. The weather is also there . it was an ENCORE /UBISOFT production www.encoreusa.com and it says on the box play it on ubi.com it is a very OLD game, good luck! went to the ubi.com site they have it , also a newer version with U.S. submarines in pacific theater ww2

Sorry to hear about your predicament. Hope you can re-discover your old self again. Often what one is looking for is hiding in plain sight. Best wishes.

Well, that was a looong time ago. I think about those times, but find it very difficult to really relate, or feel them. Sometimes, I remember when I was working on a cattle ranch, and I miss rodeo so much that many times I want to start back. But that wopuld be suicide at my age.
Solent Hunter 5 is considered a no good program- full of bugs and crashes. Ubi knew they were closing down as they wrote it , so... SH 3 is supposed to be real good. I prefer not to play on-line tho. My wife is looking for and of the series, when she has time.

www.campbells.org/Airplanes/Diary/toc.htmlI tried to recreate some of the flights recounted in the above in an attempt to rekindle my interest in flightsim. I also finally bought my first two ever pay-fer aircraft, from Carenado (and got a third for three), the Aero Commander, the Cheyenne II, and the Embraer Phenom 100. The last few years I've become a KC Royals baseball junkie, and get into flightsim (and PC gaming generally), more in the winter. So anyway, you're not alone. I DID finally get my BasicMED so I've been flying for real again some.

Well, it's been interesting. I installed a complete (I guess) copy of Golden Wings and made a few flights, then went to use fs9 in the 40s, then the 50s, and then the DC10-30 from HJG. Then a DC8-something, maybe -30 again from HJG. My wife has looked around some for Silent Hunter- would really like that one, but hasn't founds it yet. Found a ranch for 80,000 pesos which I could buy by selling my house BUT it's in the Yucatan- no way for me- hot infested with mosquitoes, snakes, and everything else that goes with the jungle. But it has wells corrals, a house, some out buildings, very corrupt gummit and police dept. Oh, another thing, about 5 months out of the year the temp runs about 37 or so degrees C, although about 4 months out of the year it cools down- to 34*C. I can't handle that. Found some cheap land up north in the U.S. but it's basically desert land in SW Texas or desert land ion Arizona. I can't handle that at my age. I have problems here with mid 20s C temps and the humidity. Joe, do you rent or have your own plane? What is it? You fly to some different cities-towns, or only in the area? Lou.
