R4D 50746 at CYYR I've been following the D-Day squadron of C-47s and DC-3s as they cross the Atlantic from Oxford CT to Duxford England. The flight is from KOXC-CYYR-BGBW-BIRK-EGPK to EGSU. Most of the planes started on 5/19. In Flightaware I see 5 planes at CYYR, 1 at BGSE, 3 at BGBW and 3 at BIRK. I'm flying the route in my R4D in "support". Allen

50746 at the BIRK fuel pump. Leaving in the morning for EGPK. There are 32 DC-3/C-47s taking part in Daks Over Normandy. of the 32, 19 are from the US. I'm tracking 12 planes on Flightaware, but there is no tracking on the other 7. I'm sure they are on the way. 5 planes are stuck in Goose Bay, the weather there is MVFR until noon on Wednesday. Allen

One correction and update. Miss Montana, N24320, did not land CYYR Monday as I reported. She is scheduled to KPQI today, on the way to CYYR. I was wondering why she went from KMSO-KICT-KROG-KTRI before heading to CYYR. The reason is that Phillips 66 is donating the fuel for her flight. In return she refueled at those Phillips sites. Since there is only jet fuel at BGBW, Phillips has forwarded fuel there so she can refuel. By the way KMSO Misoula is "just over the hill" from KCOE. Most of the planes are on their way again including the ones at CYYR, now VFR. The lack of proper fuel at BGBW has caused changes in the flight plan for some of the planes. 3 planes have gone from CYYR to BGSF instead. 2 planes elected to fly direct to BIRK from CYYR with extra fuel in fuselage tanks. I'm on the way to EGPK. Allen
