Spending some time in Idaho. Beginning today's flights at KCOE Pappy Boyington Airport, and flying a Grumman Widgeon (which is a duck. Some of the larger Grumman birds were the JFDuck, Goose, Mallard and Albatross) my first stop was S76, a water airport in Coeur d'Alene Lake. Taking off on 24, to S76 Just a few miles south, across Coeur d'Alene, to the water airport.   A nice surprise I found in Coeur d'Alene is a Park called Bluegrass Park, surrounded by a housing community with Lake City High School nearby. Bluegrass Park is at my 6, and the high school at my 7.  A wider shot showing the park and the school.  Straight ahead at the lake's edge is S76. I am about ready to cross over the Spokane River which flows to the west.  My left wing is pointing to S76.  The Widgeon on the water of Lake Coeur d'Alene  I didn't see any dock etc. but this is where the S76 airport is.  Taking off for two short hops to ID65 and ID43 - small airports near the lake.   ID65 Pisch's Place  I found one building on the grass airstrip ID65.  Flying over the airstrip at ID43 Carlin Bay.  Approaching Carlin Bay from the lake.  I will park here and continue my exploring of Idaho at a later date - so far, so good.  Cheers |
