Instead of flying straight to homebase Amsterdam from Glasgow, we were ordered to pick-up some cargo at Strasbourg, France. So we changed flightplan and headed that way... Early morning departure. Climbing out.... ... and after crossing England from N to S, leaving the British coast near Dover. Over ‘Nicky’ waypoint, on the European mainland, with the 'Zeeuwse' islands (=Holland!) in the background. In the descend over Luxembourgh Airport. Luxembough city is clearly visible. ILS approach Strasbourg. Note that nice, tiny Piper Cub in the general aviation area! Loading that last piece of cargo. In two hours we’ll be back in Holland!

Schiphol Amsterdam (home) bound: Last episode. After a short stop at Strassbourg, we're ready for our last leg of the GAAR-2009 return trip which took us 32 flight legs in almost 8 months .... Tailing an Air France (Brit Air) Canadair CL600 commuter out to the runway. That little Cessna is creeping up too close... it might be blown from the taxi way! We're off for the one hour flight to EHAM. Over the city of Maastricht, in the South East of Holland. Descending. Still clear here, but Schiphol METAR gives showery weather and gusting winds from the South West. Here are the forcasted showers... Crossing the Veluwemeer at Nunspeet. Turning towards Pampus VOR over Lelystad airport. On the VOR DME approach for runway 24. The AJAX soccer 'Arena'-stadium is visible on the left. Over the 'Amsterdamse Bos' and breaking off our 270 heading for a visual landing on 24. The old Schiphol 'East' is on the left. Taxiing to the Martinair Cargo ramp... ... and shutting down there to end this adventureous journey. (and now they're already talking about GAAR 2010... )

Parked at Brookley Field Mobile. This could be the manufacturing site of the new Air Force Tanker (hopefully).
