G'day everyone,
Just a quick note to let you know the Great Australian Air Rally 2010 is on it's way. Much thought and initial planning has been happening quietly in the background over the last few months. Another GAAR befitting the success and reputation of previous events is planned.
I am currently in France having toured the Normandy D-Day landing and battle sites, and currently touring the Somme battlefields. I move into the Belgium Western Front battlefields in the next days before returning back home to Sydney, Australia in late October. The intent is to have the GAAR 2010 web site open on 01 Dec 09.
I look forward to seeing you all again in Feb 10 for the GAAR 2010.

Sounds great Bill--both the GAAR and the visits to the battlefields and other sites. Looking forward to the GAAR and your return to the U.S.

I'm in the US, the message above was from Andrew. I just copied it from the news forum, so that the GAAR 2010 had its own forum.
I'm looking forward to the GAAR also. But first I have to survive the DC-3 Airways World Rally 2009.

I'm new to this DC-3 flying and so far a lot to learn but it's a blast. I too hope to survive the WR2009 and fly in the Great Australian Air Rally 2010. You'll love WR2009-02 especially the approach and landing...Good Luck Happy trails.......Rick

Curious about GAAR. Is this sponsored by BGA? Is there any info as to where and what it is? There are many different ACARS programs that are simple to download and use which automatically record a/c parameters. Does GAAR use one of these programs? lr.

Well on my way now. I am somewhere over the mid pacific hoping I calculated enough fuel for the thirteen hour hop from KLAX to PHTO on the Hawian Islands. I think I'm gonna make it but not with more then fumes to spare. Didn't make Oz for Christmas this year but should make it for New Years.

Hi,
Now this is really good news.. I've missed the GAAR the last couple of years through too much drink and problems with recalcitrent cattle not exiting the aircraft when ordered. It's great to be back to find some sensible conversation and I hope you are all very well and enjoying the Christmas time of year!
Andy.

Lou, Not sure about "sponsorship" - sometimes these words lose meaning between various English speaking nations, it is being run in-house by Andrew as mentioned above and the rules will be issued in the near future once everyone has had a chance to digest the Christmas Pud and left-over turkey sandwiches.......... As for Andy's boozie cattle, I'm sure the Japanese will pay top dollar for Kobe beef so long as they are Wagyu cattle you have there rather than regular Oz Shorthorn.

Yep, soon as the general info is posted, I'll be looking at what aircraft I'll be flying and knock out a livery to celebrate the event. Gettin' antsy already, lol.
