Andrew, the download for the test flight only contains FS-9 files entitled as GAAR 2009.

I've just downloaded the test flight and it shows up as GAAR Test Flight (FS9) {or (FSX) if you've gone over to the dark side}. If like me you never clear out your fs flight files you will see next to it the test flight for last year - which is essentially identical as far as I can tell.
As I'm being chased to fix the front door bell I won't be flying it just yet.

The test flight files look good at 1900z 1-4-10 in the U.S. Thanks Allen.

Downloaded timoreast.zip at AVSIM, but none of the ntsrtm or wasrtm files are available. Unfortunately, in case anyone needs to know before hand, the vox18 file is for fs9.1 only. lr.

G'day all,
Good to see so many familiar faces again.
My apologies to Woodhick he was in fact correct and at 2.00 am this morning, I fixed it and replaced the file.
I have had a very busy few days because of a HDD failure and the loss of the GAAR 2010 web development I had done. There are still some untidy things I missed through the tired, red wine affected eyes.
To Lou Ross, Thank you for two reasons, firstly, the AVSIM site meltdown appears to have resulted in the loss of these files. Secondly, these are mesh files for other parts of Australia not covered in this year's GAAR. I will put that one down to another glass of Barossa Valley Shiraz.
Please accept my apologies for my tardiness.

Andrew, Good to see that rumors of your demise were exaggerated.
I feel sure that Rooloss has the right potion for everlasting life, without the need for Babushka's 3to7x JBs which are obviously indicated as a result of Proppy's kettle work.
Perhaps the Clare Valley reds are a tad better. I find flying with their support to be quite painless.

Comrade Edrovich!
I see you are enjoying the QLD swimming pool very much, a bit overdone maybe, but your watery plane is in it's element. Proppy's third generation kettle product is magnificent again (not for consumption). First test brought a standard production samovar with 14 mouth pieces (family model) on a round trip to Mars and back. It came down with a big thud and is currently being excavated from the steppes. The hole will be filled with C02 produced by Onkel Theo's cow breeding shed.

Thanks, Andrew, for your hard work in preparing for this GAAR. I see the legs are fairly short, averaging about 112 nm. That gives us a chance to fly some slow airplanes and enjoy the view (whatever view the clouds, rain and fog allow).
I was looking at the different airports. The first leg ends in a bit of a challenge that further enforces the need for a slow plane - a grassy field not quite 3,000 ft long. But I could not find the last airport in FS9 - YOOL. Is that a misspelling?
(I was using the schedule that lists all airports.) I just looked up Coolangatta and found only YBCG listed. Is this the intended airport?

Hello Andrew, great to have you back. When New Year came around I was beginning to get worried there might not be a GAAR this year. Now, since one strip is a shortish grass one I'll have to give some thought to the aircraft, and get it on its way to the other side of the world.

Tom, Thank you for the compliments. I have mistakenly used the three letter IATA airport code for Coolangatta (OOL) after the ICAO continent / region designator for Australia (Y). The correct ICAO airport code is YBCG. Such is the price of being too familiar with these codes and doing it from memory rather than checking the reference material.

Rattler, Good to hear from you again and glad you could make it for the GAAR. It would be crime and probable cause for mutiny if there was not a GAAR. To be honest, Norm Hancock and the guys over at DC-3 Airways ran their World Rally a little later this year. Considering that many of us at Bluegrass fly the World Rally and vice versa with the DC-3 guys and the GAAR, I delayed putting the web site up so as to give the impression of a longer gap between the two events. However, as we all know too well, this hobby of ours is as good as a full time job. Just let's not tell our spouses and partners.

I think life got busy at DCA so the Rally was a little later than last year. This will be my first GAAR and I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for giving us some breathing room between the events!
