I found a nice navion on avsim and tried to download it for use in FS9. It would not load in FS9 due to something in the module folder. But it should be neat in FSX.
It is Navion2.zip by Rich Schwaertfeger and Bill Leaming. It comes with a lot of operating options, textures and panels. It features the G model with a 285 hp engine.

Tom, I downloaded it and tried it in FSX but it seems under-powered to me. Took me several minutes to climb to 3,000 feet.

Sorry, I couldn't fly it. If I could get it into FS9, I'd fix it up. What I would do is put a 285 hp power gauge on the panel (or pop up a generic power panel) and check the power output on takeoff. Then I would use a power scalar to get the right power level. If that still doesn't make it, I'd cut the parasite drag a little. I would hope this would work, even in FSX. The 285 hp power gauge comes with my Bonanza V35B.

I tinkered with it, Changed power scaler from 1.0 to 1.3, and the parasite drag from 1.0 to 0.8. Flies ok now. Does 150 kts with 2500 RPM and 25 inches/MP @ 3,000 ft with no wind. Also climbs ok at 1000 FPM.

I downloaded the Navion and it seemed to fly pretty good, but I didn't try a climb test. I installed Tom's power panel and got a hp reading of 230 so I increased the power scalar to 1.242 but then I had to increase the parasite drag to 1.218 to keep the top speed to 172 kts. That seems like a wash but maybe the climb will be affected. I'll try a climb test and let you know.
