Andrew I was refering vaguely I suspect to the fact we may need amphibians to land on some of the intended runways and Ed seems to live in the middle of it all Still waterfront properties are fetching a fortune in some places My apologies for the attempt at jocularity to those who are suffering under the deluge

Chris, I understood your reference. So too was I, making a similarly vague reference. ;D Don't you hate it when the internet loses the intended context in which you write something.

Speaking of Lady Elliot Island. I downloaded the file that Andrew listed, but before activating it I decided to see what the default field was like. Boy, do you need that file. The default (FS9) is just a strip of orange in the middle of the water, and doesn't become visible until about two miles out. The update provides a place it would be nice to go tech at.

I spent an evening downloading scenery for FSX, and attempting to install it, but I couldn't ever get it to show up in the scenery list. I had already done a test flight in FSX, but I'm not able to work that, so I'm moving to FS9. I spent all morning this morning downloading the VOZ180COMPLETE.zip and installing it. I now have new Australia scenery for FS9, but Lady Elliot doesn't come up by ICOA identifier, nor by airport name. so I am trying to download ldyelit3.zip from flightsim.com, am logged in, but am unable to download. I don't have access on server or somesuch. I've looked on a couple of other sites, but I can't find it elsewhere. Anyone wanna walk me through this? Why can't I get this file? Maybe if someone has it they could post it somewhere else? If I cannot get this file so I can have the proper airport, I'm going to blow off the GAAR yet again, just like I've done the last couple of years.

Zlogg mode OFF
Did you put it in the correct folder? Did you put the scenery files in the "addon-scenery/scenery" if applicable? Did you make a scenery AND texture file in the new file? Did you choose the correct FSX path? Just some ideas which might have been overseen during installation.
If you want me I can make FSX ORBX available to you (7.41 Gb). Just p.m. me Zlogg mode ON

I can offer you the ANTS-Scenery, Lady Marriot incl. A bit of mb. FSX is a bit tricky, but if you keep your simulator up-to-date and you understand how-does-it-work, so there should be no problem. There is a lot of help in various forums.

If I cannot get this file so I can have the proper airport, I'm going to blow off the GAAR yet again, just like I've done the last couple of years. The VOZ and Lady Elliot Island scenery files are two separate installs, so if you only have VOZ installed, Lady Elliot Island (YLTT) still won't show up. You must install it to the Addon Scenery folder of FS9 and activate it. As ldyelit3.zip is a small file, I can add it to the "Downloads" page. Trying to work out what has gone wrong, the problem in FSX sounds like the scenery folder is in the wrong place or not activated correctly. Did you execute the install program directly to the FSX folder or to a temporary folder? You should have a folder called "Ant's Aussie Airports" in the FSX Addon scenery folder i.e. C:\..\FSX\Addon Scenery\Ant's Aussie Airports\ There should also be 8 files starting with AntsAussieAirports_*.fx in the FSX\Effects folder and one file starting with AntsAussieAirports_*.wav in the FSX\Sound folder. If the above folders are not there, you have installed the scenery to the wrong FSX path. You can simply find them and move them to the correct folders. If all of the folders are in the correct path, start FSX and go to the "Settings", "Scenery Library" and select "Add Scenery". Navigate to the Addon Scenery\Ants Aussie Airports" folder and select "OK". Don't forget the scenery patch file aaa8ybd3.zip The process for FS9 is similar except it is a manual install of the scenery folder to the FS9 "Addon Scenery" folder. Hopefully this fixes your problem. ldyelit3.zip is now available from the "Downloads" page.

YLTT does not appear to exist in FSX. Leg 4 starts on a sandy beach.
Sorry if this has already been addressed. I looked but didn't find anything.

uhug, No chance. I've got an engineer aboard and we're carrying a spares pack. Not much to go wrong on a bird as basic as this. We're all jabbed up and have camp beds, mossie nets, so if it comes to it we'll sleep outside. Does seem a nice place to stay though.

In FSX the folders would show up, but they wouldn't activate. I messed with it all evening, but gave up. I'm going to go with FS9. Thanks for posting file in the downloads!

Greetings everybody. Seems my old account went the way of the dinosaur (was it really that long?) Anyhow, our late (well, he always was) ex-pilot, Fingers, asks to be remembered to those that might know (or care). So the line up for this year's rally is me (Tim) in the right seat, navigating, and my pilot, Smudger ('Smudge' to his friends, and 'that annoying git with the silly moustache' to everyone else) doing that waggly thing with the stick in the left seat. Smudge is a renowned ex Spitfire ace (in his head anyway), with 72 reported kills (mostly rabbits), shot down three times, crashed twice, bailed once, ditched once, fell out once. (In truth, the nearest he ever got to a Spitfire was the NAAFI bar!). Me, I'm a programmer and PPL. I wrote (some say 'commited' others say 'should be committed') Plan-G, essentially as a retraining exercise after I lost my job. Which just acts as a warning that SAR should be put on alert for when we (inevitably) become 'temporarily uncertain of position'...
