Solved the F-91 ground handling problem . in the Aircraft Config. ; General flight tuning section there was no high alpha p-factor , no high alpha yaw , no torgue procression lines , copied them from the Candair water bomber , pasted , and now I can ground taxi to the left and hold it straight down the runway. STILL does not want to go left on water . Maybe a little tweak of the added settings I can get it to respond. Thanks for the words of encouragement and help.

The payware Aerosoft Beaver definitely has working water rudders "CTRL W" raises and lowers the water rudders on this aircraft, as well as the FSX default Beaver float planes.

Fairchild F-91 Problem jury-rigged but works. Took the line ;water rudder in the Grumman J-2 DUCK contact points and pasted it to the F-91 , also reduced the flight tuning Alpha yaws to 0.500 . I can now stay straight with the use of left rudder on the water, no more 60 degree right turn (with full left rudder) before it breaks free.

Hi David, I installed LittleNavMap then made a flight plan if FSX and made a few test flights with it, everything was OK, the terrain peaks were helpful. Then I made a flight plan in FSX from Hyder 4Z7 (a seaplane base) to Kake KAE, started the flight and then loaded the Map program. Got a message "not a valid start point". The plan opened OK but there was no terrain display. Is that a bug or did I do something wrong.

I do know when" not a valid start point" comes up you have to go to the flight planer folder icon .click and it will have a section " choose starting point" when you click on it a listing of the airports runways an ramps comes up then you chose one for the starting point. I hope this is right. There are others who use this program so if it is wrong maybe they will post an help us out.

Since I created the flight plan in FSX, started the flight and then opened the program I got the "not valid start point" because the program expected 4Z7 S or 4Z7 N, and so the program set the start point to the middle of the seaplane runway. When I went to the flight planner folder icon and clicked "choose starting point" the airport choice was "4Z7 N" or "4Z7 S". Actually, I don't think it makes much difference if the start point is the south end or the middle of the runway, since the runway is 10K feet long.. I still can't figure out why there is no terrain (mountain peaks) displayed on the bottom map (can't remember what it is called).

On the task bar there is a tab "WINDOW" click then chose "Elevation profile" A green mountain icon , this brings up the display, it is very handy as it shows the safe hieghth and the minimum and I do mean minimum ! Mine showed 6000Ft minimum for a leg and I had to do some tight turning to keep from kissing mountains.

OK, the Map Planning Elevation Profile window shows flight plan altitude, 6500 feet (yellow), with all way points, the aircraft and trails. I'm flying at 6500 feet, ~1500 feet over the mountain tops, yet no green mountains show in the profile and the minimum elevation is 1000 feet (red). The green mountain icon is selected (blue background). If I deselect it the entire profile is gone. I have noticed that there is no hill shading on the map. The hill shading icon has no effect. In your picture of the Ford Trimotor (above) where are you flying?

The picture was taken on Flight #3 , I had to go 4 Miles down the airport valley then turned right into another valley still climbing at 500 Fpm. to the firewall, wanting to stall at 7000 Ft. My time maybe off but These flights are not boring! look at the task bar on top , on the far right tools try atlas for map type. I like it.

I set up for flight #3, started the Sim and loaded the flight plan into the program and the profile showed the elevation profile with green mountain peaks as expected. I noticed the map shows 'hill shading". The map for Flight #6 does not, even though the Icon is selected (blue background). It looks there is no profile info for that area of the map. If you get a chance give that flight a try and let me know. I know these flights will be "interesting". I'm flying the SuperBee and the DH-60G amphibian. The SupoerBee does OK, the DH-60G is a challenge.

I mapped out #6 and noted the elevation profile shows an safe altitude of 10000Ft the red at 1000 Ft. , which you would have to pick your valley wisely. my maps show terrain fine unless I chose the offline maps. I have not flown the leg but have flown the area with real weather. The planers are kind ,usually early morning heavy fog up to 1500 Ft. then clear sailing after it burns off in a few hours, or the rains move in, then it creeps back in after sundown. storms of rain/snow mix and winds next month . The DH-60G has to be fun , I hope it is faster than the Tri-Motor with a head wind I thought the ships were passing me.
