Hello everyone!
My name is Urs, living in Switzerland and finally happy retired. I have just signed up to fly in Down Under to wallow in good old memories!
Well then, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you, and: "It doesn't do any good to stand on the airplane's brakes when you're already on your back!" by Rex Thorp
Cheers Urs

Ah, yes, the good old memories! A couple of drinks, music from the 50's, or 60's, or maybe a bit from the 70's. Reliving the past, sometimes, telling stories to a member of the family. And wishing I could actually take a nice walk in the mountains with that with that one young lady who is just as far out of my reach as getting back with an airline! Well, another drink... Urs, your best memories are back when _________________. lou.

Gooday Urs, What's with the newbie stunt, you've been around for a long time. Is it that you have reformed and no longer fly with a 'tinnie' in the left hand? Ed

Hello Louross, Hello Ed - Thanks for the welcome.
The 65-year-old amateur pilot allegedly tanked up on beer and wine before taking to the skies above the eastern German state of Thuringia in his Cessna light aircraft on Saturday afternoon.
Once airborne, he served himself some more cocktails while at the controls.
Two hours later he was apparently so inebriated that he was unable to read the instruments telling him where the Schoengleida airfield was.
"Come on, I know you're down there," he radioed. "Where the bloody hell have you hidden yourself?"
Control tower staff say he also sang a few songs, cracked a mother-in-law joke and told them to "pull their fingers out as I've got a party to go to". Fearing instrument failure, the tower scrambled a rescue helicopter stationed at the airfield. It homed in on the man in clear blue skies some 50 miles west of the airport and gave instructions for the pilot to follow it back.
Officials at Schoengleida said the pilot, who has not been named, made a safe landing.
"But when the helicopter pilot went over to see him, that was when he got the full force of the alcohol fumes in his face," said a spokesman.
The man was unsteady on his feet as he wobbled from the cockpit to his parked car. Concerned airfield authorities alerted police.
He was stopped on the way home, breathalysed and found to be nearly four times over the legal limit for driving.
Now he has lost his driving licence - and his pilot's licence.
THAT WAS NOT ME..!!

Better keep away from Proppies "110 octane tea" urn all the same.
(Getting fed up with all these happily retired folk I keep coming across - sounds far too much fun. Time I gave up the wage slave job!)

Allan, right you are! Hang your Job whenever possible! But you have to be careful with your new freedom - there is a new Boss around! What I'm trying to say, is my significant other half..
- Darling, nice weather outside, we should go for a walk (grumbling)
- Can you get the letters in the Postoffice? BUT without stopping in the Restaurant next Door! (Whilst some other retired Buddies are having a Glass of beer or two.. grumbling)
- Can you bring the waste down please! (grumbling)
I prefer to sit in my DC-2 cockpit and steering the old plane from Geralton WA to Shark Bay WA, (this is what i'm doing right now..) whilst my GAAR 2014 Aircraft is on the way to Perth by ship.
My wife is out for sunday Christmas shopping! Hooray.
Cheers Urs

It is amazing how the new boss can find more work to be done than there ever was before retirement ! I 'm sure Capt. Zlogg was forced into flying the Cessna ,in order to infiltrate the capitalistic air space, landing at small airfields to find out who is flying what in the up coming GAAR. also remote landing fields to open new distribution points for Proppies kettle brew. Got lost while trying to replace the liquid in the magnetic compass with same brew.

I don't know if this is actually true, but rumour has it that the good, and infamous, Capt. Zlogg hid away and went to Disneyland for some good capitalistic fun. (Much like what Nikita wanted to do back in 58 (or was it 57?). Anyway, he had so much fun he lost himself and tried to stay on as a character there, and that's when the friendly folks from the KBG, or whatever they call themselves, found him. He then wound up in retirement in Siberia- with a boss that was... Well, that's what I heard. Could have been thru the Dept. of Rumour Control. (unsigned for personal protection of identity.)

Well, it's good to see that Capt. Zlogg is still with us, at least in spirits. Missed his antics. And I never did get a picture Babushka

Allen , I'm sure the Newbies would never forget the adventures of Capt. Zlogg and his band of misfits , I lift a glass of spirits to the Capitan , whom I am sure will take over his "Retirement Resort" and turn it into another way to get money from the capitalist . I think Babushka was the best looking female airframe/tractor mechanic the KGB cow droppers had ,really looked good after she shaved and a few slugs of Proppies brew . I miss the Capitan... salute
