Delivery of my ride for this years' GAAR: Douglas A-26 Invader 'Fire Eater'. After the making of the movie Allways, stored and gathering dust in the back of an old hangar at Ephrata, WA. So now at Cairns waiting to be assembled and test flown.

YPMP. The trouble with a slow aeroplane is that it gets dark by the time you arrive. Single pilot, windscreen strut right in the middle. Curved approach into a black hole.

Just follow the tunnel of lights in front of you. ;D When it goes "bump" cut the power, hit the brakes and hang on. Cheers Andrew

Peter, assuming you are flying Dave Garwood's FS9 Rapide, there is a patch by Jim Robinson (dh89a_ap.zip on flightsim.com) which you may find very useful. It adds a (splendidly antique) fully functional autopilot, NAV1 radio and VOR/glideslope head to the 2D panel. Additionally, a new "gauge" has been installed that toggles the windshield center frame from view, greatly improving visibility on final approach.

Attempting to add a few screen shots. The A-26 is not known for its short field capability...especially when fully loaded! Am practicing here for the next leg and that dratted short island runway! Hope this works... Fly safe... GAAR - 028 Attachments:

The A-26 is not known for its short field capability...especially when fully loaded! I wondered how soon you'd discover/remember that... ;D Am practicing here for the next leg and that dratted short island runway! No worries, I hear they're building a grandstand so that everyone gets a good view of the splash!
