Came across something interesting-- there's a guy named Hugo Caron who came up with the idea of adding NDBs to the location of towers in FS2004 in Alaska (37), Yukon Territory (2) and Quebec (84) that coincide with real AM radio stations. No music, obviously, just the identifier. In the old days, in the absence of other navaids, fliers would home in on the AM signal. Most of them are located near existing NDBs and other navaids, but "you never need them until you need them badly!" The file is am_radio.zip at Avsim.

I remember as a kid in the 50's flying the old 170b around northern Michigan using AM radio as a nav. aid on the Adf. waiting to hear the DJ announce the stations call sign so we knew we had the right tower on the map , it was my job ..
