Since using my lap top for FS9, I have been troubled by the use of throttle during landing. I used to cut the throttle just as I leveled off over the runway. But with a throttle on the joystick I can't do that without upsetting the attitude. I have finally worked out a way. It has to be studied some for each aircraft but it does work with small pistons to jets after some practice. I setup a final approach "Flight" to practice. I have the plane fairly slow on approach with gear down. I set a re-determined low power setting on the order of 20%. Then I fly the approach with the stick managing the flaps. I do not touch the power until all wheels are on the runway. Then I cut the power.
Practice has determined the following values work: Baron 20% Skylane 23% Mooney Bravo 15%
All were nominally loaded near the max landing weight.
