Here is a dynamic surface wind map. It shows how the wind is flowing along the surface. It would be great to see the same thing at some elevations but that is not possible because of the slow rate of data aquiisition for winds aloft. They still have to track balloons for that. hint.fm/wind/index.html

This is real quick- no internet in the new house (area), I'm using a computer at a company. Can't open the map, but mayber this is the same as the "millibar" charts used by airlines (higher altitude) for winds aloft. lou.

No, but imagine the wind currents those charts help to represent, plus they are in motion. It's really astounding and this should help RW pilots some.
