I no longer have a pure Windows. It is based on Vista but it has a lot of Google Chrome in it. I no longer have a copy of Winzip. It disappeared from my system.
Should I still zip aircraft files to be emailed or can we just email the unzipped folder containing an aircraft if < 1.5 mb?
I found something called 7-zip that is free. Anyone use that? It seems the old "FreeZip" has been gobbled up by M$.

7-zip is the most commonly used free zipping program these days. It's what I'd recommend.

I agree with Joe, I use 7-Zip to compress massive directories of completed project files on my work laptop.
The .7Z compression format is not as limited in maximum size as .zip, although I don't expect that would be an issue for you as we are talking about GB of data!
7-zip can also produce .zip files for ease of use by anyone that you send files to.
