I have started FSX up again, added patches and FSUIPC4.6 . Then scanned EVERY aircraft I downloaded with Anti-virus program. Things fly a lot better when those little bugs are gone.

I have new jets . most with the FMC flight computer. I am watching you tube tutorials on the programming ,but not grasping yet , I am sure as I get use to the operation , finding how to enter departure and arrival plates, jet airways ,it will become useful. Took me an hour to set up a flight from KlAN to KCLV the flight only took 30 minutes! I am working my way up commuter routes first , then tackle the Heavies and the cross country trips . Makes the old light bulb over my head get a little warm....

Good on you David, once you become familiar with the FMC there is so much that you can do with it both on the ground and in the air.
Is that the FMC that can be installed into any aircraft and which AIRAC cycle does it use ?
I actually would like to flight plan a rally for FMC equipped aircraft using SID's and STAR's, waypoints, airways and ILS and RNAV approaches.
If our Bluegrass pilots would be interested and Allan agreed please leave you comments on here.

I am interested , BUT right now it is above my programming ability.. I have not tried to install to other aircraft, sounds like another panel project!

If there is sufficient interest we should give it a go. I suspect the best option would be to make the use of FMC doo-hickeys one option with the alternative of steam navigation for the less adventurous!

I could include it into a few legs of the BCAR with the two options ?

I could include it into a few legs of the BCAR with the two options ? sounds like a method to test the water before diving in.

The FMC is something. Till I get used to getting the information to enter(weather,SID,STAR) , writing it down(flight planning)and proper entering sequance I will be using the 8 page booklet I downloaded an printed out. I must admit I enjoy the planning, the charts and plates make for much more exact take off and landing pattern than just flying to the airport a left down wind/hard turn an plopping it down on the runway. I've installed the FMC in every plane that has over 700Nm range and cruises over 200 Knts and 10,000Ft. I will enjoy my latest download the PILATUS PC_12 , just the plane for charter flights from home (KZOW) to neighboring states. Thanks everybody for getting me out of the BUSH and into the 21st century.

David,
Allan and I have been talking about adding the FMC to a couple of legs of this years BCAR. Pilots will be able to fly modern Nav or steam Nav on these legs.
What we would like to know is where did you get your FMC from, I am guessing from your comments that it can be fitted to any aircraft ?
Is your FMC for FSX only and any other info you can think of.

I found the Gauge on SIMVIATION.COM, main menu, on the left side of page go to FS Gauge and it is on page#4. It says for FSX only. I flew it today installed in the Pilatus PC-12, it loaded the flight plan , BUT the link to the autopilot seemed to accept the speed and flight levels but not turn the aircraft to the way points. I am working on checking out three plans. #1 removing the GPS (could be interfering with each other) #2 changing autopilot in aircraft CFG. with one from FMC equipped airliner. #3 I just need more time learning programming. I have a bit of time before the rally so I will be busy!
