Hi John,

Bluegrass Airlines was the first VA that I joined and it saddens me that things hasn't gone well as of late. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.

Now, I am no programmer, but I know my way around html.

I know people have tried and work hard to get things going, but I wonder if it's not a better solution to simply start over anew. Data can be pulled from the database manually and re-entered into whatever new solution people can come up with. It can be a very simple CMS, perhaps with a bit of help from Wordpress addons.

Data doesn't have to be lost and no doubt it will take a long time to get everything converted, but at least people that have an interest can start joining again and those who are still flying with bluegrass can continue submitting their pireps.

I'm even willing to fund some money for an automated pirep or VA program. I just don't want to see bluegrass airlines go.

Hi Fran,

The original pirep system was a bespoke database package put together by a friend of Bill Von Sennet. Unfortunately it broke at a time when we changed the hosting site to a more secure one. I have tried to get my head round the php and mySQL coding a few times with little progress to be honest.

There are a couple of pirep packages on avsim that I will get into gear and investigate. You are right that it will probably be better to start again rather than try to patch something that is broken in mysterious ways.
