I have just completed a KLAX to EGLL flight with this aircraft. I have also done some short flights with it. I don't think I have spent as much time at the engineer's position in any other aircraft. Fuel planning and management is critical to flying realistic in this A/C. Landing weight is 123,000lbs.Wings cannot handle more.
It is a good A/C to fly so that helps. Did not find much wrong with it. I am going to fly back to KLAX and see if I run out of fuel due to headwinds. Using real weather.
It is a lot of fun to fly! ;D
I wish everyone a Happy New Year!

As an old , old ex-flight engineer I too am flying the old L049A Connie. It is one of a few planes with a honest to gosh FE station. This and the B314 abd of course my old girl the PBY-5A. I have flown the Connie cross country several time and you are very right in the fuel management is rather critical. Its great flying until you have to to to put her down quick, dead stick. I'v been there and done that too. All the best Bus

I have been flying this version and like it a lot ,have several times now had to restart after pulling the wrong crossover levers or tank shut down control and once tried the fuel dump control to see what it did and lost ten thousand feet as i dumped all the fuel out of tanks one and two(thats when I decided to read the manual and do before every flight now) luckily I was at 18000 when I did it! fuel planning is a must to get her out of some airports, but makes it that much more fun to fly.
