That screwy investment advisor (swindler) from Indiana wasted a perfectly good Piper Meridian on his attempt to escape to a new life. He flew south from Indiana, set the autopilot to fly it to the Gulf and then jumped out with a parachute over southern Alabama. His attempt was messed up when the flight was intercepted by two jet fighters who reported the door was open and then the plane crashed out of fuel in some woods without makin g it to the Gulf. The lack of a pilot was clear for all to see. He has been arrested.
