I've just noticed that the DC-3 Airways 2010 World Rally will be running during October this year. As they always support the GAAR, it would be good to return the compliment and have some fun navigating the DC-3 round these routes. The flights for this year have not been posted yet, but if you are new to the WR, take a look at their charter flights section over at www.dc3airways.com . You can see some of the flights from previous years posted there.

Apologies - I'd put a full stop at the end of the web address which confused it. Should work now.

The Kommintern of the Great Motherland is pleased to announce that the inevitable Capt. Zlogg and top engineer, the indomitable Propellorosky will take up the challenge and try to beat the kapitalistny single handedly again this year!! (which remains to be seen)

Good to hear from you, Capt. Zlogg. Are Onkel Theo, Cousin Victor and Babushka still on your team? Anyway, good luck in WR-2010.

They shall lend us moral support. Niece Valentina Razzmatazova (with the big boobies) is new to the team and has the specific task to distract the kapitalistny airmen.
Will you do a feeble attempt to finish this event?

I see that I am forced to reply, in order to parlay any preconcieved misconceptions that might occur. I had intended on entering the Rally, and was looking over the route info and had decided to brush up on the E6B Computer, however, VFB (or is it VBF ) came out with the upgraded CV240 including upgraded FDE's by calclassics, so I'll be stuck flying it for a while. In the meantime, a little money appears to be coming in, so I need to take advantage of that and get back to work on building the house. Well, at least it'll give someone else a chance to win! lr.

Good to hear that you have that moral support, Capt Zlogg. And, yes, I plan to finish this event with the pace setting time. My navigatrix has furnish me with boobie blinders which should neutralize Valentina. Sorry to hear you won't be joining us, Lou. Hope things go good on your house.

Well, Lou, touchy-feelies with strangers, either manual or automatic, are strictly prohibited by my pilots manual. As for you, you may find some manual feelers at the ends of your arms. ;-) Good luck.

Well I guess since Capt Zlogg has once again risen to the challange it must behove me to do the same. Looking forward to flying against your times once again. Perhaps this time I will be equal to your prowess in the left seat.

Well, futuroscoptyl, that remains to be seen! Currently we suffer from a severe case of borscht flatulent circumlocutions which sends Proppy bobbing/bouncing over the steppes like an uncontrolled fly under rocket power and yours truly disposing undesired by-products from a place below the bottom of the spinal cord (lumbal B3) vaguely resembling the isotope seperation technique used during the Manhattan Project.

Yep. You're right, Allen. I keep forgetting that part of the manual. Maybe I should mark that page.
By the way, Capt Zlogg, is he ( or- are you) actually Russian Russian, or really, like, Slovakian, or Moldovian, or something? I was in touch for some time (maybe 8 or 10 years ago) with a very interesting sort from somewhere around Serbia. His father had been a submarine commander in the Russian Navy- could tell a lot of very interestng stories. Probaby he and Capt. Zlogg knew each other. Anyway, maybe there is a compiliation of all of Capt. Zlogg's writings?? Even if he (you) never put anything together in one "book", the writings could probably be requested from the "Mother Gov't" under the glasnot laws. lr.

Lou, anybody who reeks of Vodka tailings as does Zloggorinskaya must be Russian and I bet he will be angling to get into the WR flying that Li-2 imitation of a '3' with its steam powered noise generators which are the very reason for the number of runways in the Motherland with earth curvature. I have heard it said that they could get airborne with a full load given 37 knots straight down a 12300' concrete strip providing the QNH was greater than 29.98" and the driver airframe was at least 3 hours bottle to throttle.
