Boy, Ed, that was a mouthful! My condolences to you and Proppy, Capt Zlogg. Actually, I'm a bit surprised. I didn't know one could get bad borscht. Bud, glad to see you are back. I'm always a little apprehensive when we haven't heard from you for a while. While you were gone you probably missed my post in Using FSX on 9/7/2010. Good luck to all in WR 2010.

Allen Yep I missed your post on Using FSX, sorry. Just went out and looked it up tho. Yep I am still getting the same kind turbulence into KSEA 34L. Starts about 3 nm out on an ILS approach. Altitude ~1400 ft down to about 800 ft AGL. Smoothes out just before fence line. Still does it no matter what I fly. Even on my two different machines. I think that it is some kind of anomaly within the copy of FS that I have installed. Do you get the same action all the time or was it a one shot thing ?? Glad that I’m not alone with this thing. Bud

Hi Bud, No, it only happened on just that one flight. I was flying a couple of different planes to different airports in the Alaskan Freight challenge to check out FSX. I made several approaches to that airport with no problems except that once. So your KSEA event is still a puzzle. Have you tried different weather settings to see if that makes a difference? Are you selecting a previous flight or does it also happen when you create a new flight?

Hey Allen, I set to no weather, flat calm no winds, CAVU. It happens on a Create A Flight each time I load up. It happened when I first found it flying my PBY-5A. Then tried my R4D-6, sane thing each time. OK I figured it was the non default planes. Tried the Grumman Goose, DC3 still the same for all. If I leave it to the ILS, it handles it problem much better than I can. It is the only airport that I have this problem

Hello, just curious, have you tried setting different winds to see what would happen? Maybe this is just a glitch, and really doesn't affect the use of the program at all. lr.

Lou Yes I have changed the winds up and down and crossways, still the same results Bah! Allen you are flying the MAAM R4D-6 in FSX right? Do you have any VC views at all? If so do you have all the VC views? Do you have all 5, 2D views using the hat switch ?? Do you have any interior views at all ?? These are the things that I am missing flying my R4D-6 in FSX Let me know how you setup works Bud

Hi Bud, No, I never bought the MAAM version. I fly the default DC-3 in FSX. I installed my R4D-6 textures and Tom's fds from FS9. They work OK in FSX but have no interior views. In FSX I get VCs from Views/View Mode/Cockpit/Virtual Cockpit, not the 'S' key. I don't have any cabin interiors. Probably not much help.

We have fully recovered from the inconveniences caused by the perfidious representatives of the Dark Forces. They should have known better - "The Russian Airman Is Indestructible"!
Babushka is looking forward to see all the contenders struggling into the air in their cheap imitations of our trustworthy aeroplane and getting lost in their feeble attempts to follow (let alone read & understand) the flightplan!! She thinks your lot is far more funnier than her favourite comedian and current lover Borat.
Reading through the above posts we think you should refrain from eating spicey dishes......it will considerably dampen the windy effects and turbulent intestines when starting up your gear!!

Boy, you guys who AREN'T flying WR 2010 are really missing something. The flights are a lot harder (read high learning curve)than last year. So far flights 3 and 8 have been really ... interesting. Currently 1 hour into flight 9.

I seemed to be keeping there or thereabouts on time, if not fuel, in the MAAM DC-3 until I wandered all over the Aleutians in Flight 7 whilst feeling unsuitably relaxed on Friday night. On 8 I convinced myself that one of the legs had to be mis-directed as the approach direction to the target NDB was about 150 degrees out from the direction I was heading. When the scores come out tomorrow I may be proved wrong - again!

I have now done a few rallies both here and over at DC3 Airways and I have to agree some of these flights have really taxed the brain and the skills. Some of the weather I ran into in flight 8 and 9 would ground an airline in the real world. Cap't Zlogg is going to come in better then me again, got to hand it to the Russian, he knows what he is doing. Oh well if it was easy it wouldn't be a challenge. Taking on flight ten tomorrow night, hope it is not such a rough ride.

I found several of the flights challenging. Without the E6B downloaded from the WR2010 site I never would have been able to find my way on three flights were the winds frequently changed direction.
