Howdy, Am looking to add a Narco AT155 transponder to the default Piper J3 Cub. In Real Life (as in FS9), the Cub has no battery, and as transponders are a legal requirement to traverse Class B airspace (especially in Europe, Australia and NZ), many enterprising folks have built any number of home-made wind generators mounted to the wing struts powering portable battery packs to power said transponders. I have successfully added the transponder to the Cub panel (as a seperate pop up window) and activated the Transponder boolan switch in the aircraft.cfg Radios section. However, I would also like to add the generator to the Electrics section of the aircraft .cfg file and come up with the following: [electrical] ;BusType, MaxAmpLoad, MinVoltage BusTypes:0=MainBus,1=AvionicsBus,2=BatteryBus,3=HotBatteryBus,4-7=Generator/AlternatorBus(1-4) avionics = 4, 8, 14.0 max_battery_voltage = 14 generator_alternator_voltage = 14 max_generator_alternator_amps = 8 The Bus type is set as 4 in order to indicate a seperate power source ... drawing 8 amps and 14 volts). I suppose my question is: Will this work? (or should I simply leave this section blank)? Enquiring minds would like to know. Regards, Dorian

That may work. You might have to add a Bat switch and an Avionics switch to get everything turned on. Anything you do to get the transponder On will work. The sailplanes have a hand-held transciever that should work if you want to fly with ATC.
