That is really amazing. I suppose the gliders have their spoilers deployed to stay with those guys as long as possible.

Possibly quite the opposite I reckon. I don't know what speed is efficient for the 'suit' but it is probably quite a bit faster than the L-13 Blanik. Incidentally the Blanik is a delightful thing to fly, big, all metal, has serious flaps and spoilers while the authority of the rudder makes it a dream to aerobat, especially in a stall turn. You can be truly vertical with the speed down to a whisper, in with the rudder and around she comes quite briskly into vertically down, Grins are trumps.
The Blanik's strengh is ledgendary however there has been recent concern about, I think, the main spar. It seems there is a mod needed --- but then they have been around for 54 years !

I was thinking the gliders would have to dive for speed but use spoilers to to reduce L/D. I thought I did see spoilers out. it is a very strange match of "aircraft".

One of those gliders was inverted. I can't tell if there were spoilers are not.
