Hello old and new friends of Bluegrass Airlines, It's been ages, but my virtual plane has finally landed again, and brought some mail with me. I missed flying, but didn't have the pc nor the equipment to run it. A few months ago my husband bought me a new laptop, so I have been busy installing FSX and trying to get the MAAM DC-3 to work. Yesterday my Saitek yoke system arrived, so now I have a proper yoke and power quadrant and flying just got a whole lot better. Privately I had some ups and downs, last two years I had to take care of my mom - she suffered broken bones (complicated fractures with infections) and a heart condition - a tear in one of the chambers. Currently, she is reasonably recovered, but she'll never fully heal again so I still go by very often to help her out wherever/whenever I can. I'm also currently between jobs, and the job hunting isn't going too well, but I remain persistent. At some point I will find a proper job locally. ' At least, now I can fly again I've plenty of oldies that I want to try out and see some of the good ole USA from the sky ;-)

Well I'll be! Hello Fran, it's great to learn you are alive and well, I wondered what had become of you.
Sorry to hear about your Mum's problems, it's a good thing you are around to help, well done.
Re flying around the States you will see in the FS 2004 forum where I have been doing just that. I have FSX but still use mostly FS9 due to the plethora of add-ons that I have collected. My flights were arranged under the pretext of visiting all the forum members on the North American continent who owned up to living somwhere. A pathetically small list considering the size of our membership. It saddens me that such a number of people who join a club such as ours, hide themselves in anonymity. There I go, raving on again.
The trip has been great due in part to the FSGenesis mesh scenery I have installed. Having a close look at the mountains has been wonderful. I am currently in Mexico and close to the end of the journey however my overall progress has been very slow due to home committments. I'll finish soon.
All the best to you and I think your joining date needs a revision, YEHHHH!!! Cheers, Ed

Hello Ed, good to see you still flying I saw about your flights through North America. I'll have a look and see if I can do it too Btw, not sure if you remembered or not, but I've lived in the Denver Metro area for two years, if that counts, well there you have another spot to fly by Feel free to visit the Netherlands if you're really feeling like wasting tons of time I'm near EHKB, though in a few weeks I'll be in EHTX - we don't have Texas, but we do have Texel Been there last weekend, they had a terrific air show. There are some pics floating around too. I also need to install some better mesh scenery, will have a look and see what's there for FSX.

I assume you are talking Denver CO, although I know of no other. No I didn't remember that. Nice area, in the summer at least which is the only season I have been there.
Funny you should mention the Netherlands and airshows. My son Mike and I were planning to see the Swiss AF Air Power show at Axalp in October and were looking around for other shows and museums to visit. A trip to Tromso was also a favourite to get amongst the Northern Lights while the sun is so active. All that is cancelled sad to say due to Mike taking up employment in the mining industry at Newman in Western Australia. A downer but I will catch the action in great detail on the videos that will abound after the event.
A search on Avsim will get you amongst the scenery that is available, LOTS. FSGenesis is very good for mesh. Landclass is a bit harder to find and is always a big load of data. Have fun. Ed

Well, not to hi-jack your post, but I'm Lou Ross, and thought I'd introduce myself. I am sorry to hear about your mom, and your other problems. However, I can definitely relate to them. I'd have to agree with Ed concerning FS9, which is what I use. Have done a lot of reading about FSX, and no thanks. A friend come over a bit back and offered it as a gift, but I refused the offer. Anyhow... You are in the Netherlands? Well, I've been in MX for some time. We are looking to get a "food business" started, as it can be a very good business for additional income. Maybe you could think about starting a business on your own there- something- food, service- making curtains, clothes, etc. I don't know, but you know the area, laws, people, and possibilities. We're going to sell tamales three days a week. My wife's from Oaxaca, which has a very special cruisine, but we're living in Guadalajara, so it should go will well. Well, good luck, and keep in touch. lou.

Yes, I went to Phoenix Arizone first for 3 months. Then went home, since it was just a long vacation. Then the couple I stayed with asked me again when they moved to Colorado if I'd like to stay a bit longer. So I stayed there for nearly two years. Yes, my husband took some pictures. If you have facebook you can search for me there and I''ll add you (or anyone else who reads here) so you can see them. As for the scenery, I often found it hard to find the right ones. There's a lot of bogus files floating around in cyberspace. Thanks for the advice - at least it will cut down on the amount of files to dig through

I do remember the avatar you have on the old forums. Or at least, I remember a member who had snoopy on the dog house. Just not sure if you are the one and the same SOrry! Well, since I upgraded pc's and operating system I can't get FS9 to work. FSX seem to run ok right now ... but does have its quirks. Anyhow... You are in the Netherlands? Well, I've been in MX for some time. We are looking to get a "food business" started, as it can be a very good business for additional income. I've tattoo equipment, but originally it was only to help out family and friends and it got a bit more than that. I've also been making some things from leather, and occassionally I get a commission to create some art for someone - though that's rare these days. Nice to meet you all again! Bluegrass remains special to me, after all, it was the first VA I joined I'm also getting back into MP and Vatsim - so maybe I'll see you or other bga member there!

Weel, we're in Mexico, in an area called "Pearl of the West". If this is true, I'd hate to see second place! Anyhow... I'm out of time, so will get back later (have to borrow computers for internet) lou.
