www.airnav.com/airport/SN41This little airport has driven me nuts the last couple days. It's a private grass strip near Girard, KS, about 15 miles NE of Atkinson Muni (KPTS - Pittsburg, KS) or ~ 35nm NE of Joplin Regional (KJLN). The estimated altitude is 1300 ft. That is almost certainly wrong. The average elevation in that area is 1,000 ft MSL and it's probably some of the flattest terrain in the country. The problem is FSX renders the area as something of a mound (even in the map), and when you get really close, it further resolves into a plateau. I guess because you have to get real close before that happens, I never noticed it before. I thought there was something wrong with my program, but it turns out this is a garbage-in-garbage-out issue, the incorrectly reported elevation being the garbage-in. The simplest way to fix this might be to just delete the airport entirely. Alternatively I'd like to flatten it down to about 1,000 ft. or a little less, which is probably it's true elevation. I understand that this sort of stuff is more complex in FSX than prior versions. Can anyone help?
