Well, have had a rather long spell with no FS. Thought that'd never happen. Went thru a "really tired" spell; did a LOT of house work- including building a fosa septic tank; and basically, just bored with FS. But I'm back now with NEW LIFE (for FS)!
Am using the Dreamfleet B727. The flight dynamics they did on this thing are amazing. Never seen aother like it. They had current 727 pilots giving them feedback on the actual figures for the pitch-power-airspeed on the approach; and also the amount of power lever movement to get a specific change of EPR and N1 indications. As an expamlpe. The a/c systems have been very well modeled. I have a video course given by a Captain that can be used to "fly" this program. You could also use the actual a/c manual since it's modeled so well. I really miss flying the airplane in real life. I liked it much better than anything else I flew, but that's only comparing it to the 732. I really can't count the B99 or DHC6- totally different class. But the 727 seemed like a heavy, luxurious and more comlex operation than the mini-pig. You know, you had three guys sitting up there. Great conversations, chess games, and just plain good comradere. We flew it at .82 mach (subsatabtiually faster then the 732), and it was common to red-line it on the descent. Of course back then, fuel was cheap. Another thing- back then everybody knew how to fly. It had an auto-pilot, and you could couple an approach, thereby dropping your DH by a hundred feet.
So anyhow, "invented" a company and set up a somple route to fly. See how it goes,
Christmas this year'll be a little different. Actually, I should say - This year Christmas'll be a little different. Been gone too long- listening to Mexicans speak bad English. It begins to rub off. Anyhow, in the past my wife, boy, and girl always set up the tree and decorations. I seemed to take the responsibility of operating the Christmas music and drinking loaded eggnog or whiskey. This year my girl is gone- got married (basically). My boy is working full-time as an auditor and in his last year of college, and my wife works from Fri nite to Sun nite. So, my wife will do the tree and decorations, I'll handle the music and libation. No kids. But, at least we'll all be together on Christmas Day for most of the festivities. Maybe the gift giving will be that Day too. But we'll (my boy, wife, and I) have to do something Christmas Eve.
Well, blah, blah, blah. My boy says it's true that older men like to tell stories about their past. My wife says it's true that old men repeat those stories ad infinitum (I think that's the right phrase). They are good ones tho. Aren't they?
