I am pleased to report to the aviators of Bluegrass Airlines that we can add a new accomplishment to our annals-- one of our aircraft was the first to land at FlightSim's Holkham Bay Airfield for this year's Dash for the Holidays. While my choice of aircraft was not intended to 'win', my timing accomplished what was intended-- which was to be the first arrival, and reinforce for the flight sim community that we're still out here.

I did a lot of planning as to waypoints, weather, fuel consumption, etc. beforehand, so I knew what I was getting into. Between the actual flying and the 'off-screen' time, I was from 0630 on Friday to 0230 Saturday in the process. If you've ever seen the old film Spirit of St. Louis with Jimmy Stewart as Lindbergh, the scene where he's landing at LeBourget and really struggling-- well, the landing at Holkham Bay wasn't that bad, but where he reaches up with obvious exhaustion to cut the mag switch, that I can relate to...
