Has anyone got a copy of the GAAR2007 fireworks package? I'm pretty sure I created one, but it seems to have gone (up in smoke?) in a recent hard drive crash.

John, I do have the 2007 fireworks file. Had no idea how to do anything with it and could not remember if you were out of circulation at the moment. GAAR2007_Finale.zip (1.93 KB) hopefully it is attached! cheers, Allan

Many thanks. It has a README, but all you have to do is extract the .bgl file, and put it in your AddonScenery\Scenery folder (or wherever you like to keep fireworks). It's set up for the 2007 flightplan dates, and will run in FS9 and (I think) FSX. Using the default takeoff time for the final leg, most people are likely to arrive in daylight - it works then, but it's prettier if you delay your flight to arrive after sunset.
All together now - OOOOH! AAAAH!

At last!
I got really worried that there would be no GAAR this year!
Great to see it happening again - time to get the old Army DC-3 out out the hanger and fly her down to Oz!
Thank you guys! I'm sure many of my colleagues at British Airways Virtual will join us this year, as they have in past years.
Take care,
Lee

The first roster entries are now on the site.
I have also heard that the start of day files for FSX also work with Prepar3D. Thanks to Philippe for that piece of info.

Good morning Allan. Thank you for the Roster. My Question is, have you added some addional Time for climb and appoach? Flighttime plus 10' or we just measure the time from Runway to Runway? Appoach and landing comes to one's own decisions? Cheers Urs

Urs,
I have just checked the calculation sheet for the target times and it calculates a flying time from take-off roll to landing on the end runway based on the average speed of the test flight with an additional three minutes for climb and approach. There are no mountains to cross on this set of flights so cruising heights do not need to be too high.

I have set up a new Forum and board specifically for the GAAR. It is linked on the GAAR page. Due to technical issues I have had to set up a completely separate proboard forum for the event, so you will have to sign up for that board separately from this one. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Hello again,
Submitted my test flight score and other required details yesterday. Can someone confirm that the email has been received?
Just asking because it is a different email than the one usually requested.
Cheers,
Lee

Allan, I must say it is a most excellent rally so far. Landing a heavy on some of the short island runways tested my skills even in the clear weather.
