The August Newsletter is online at www.bluegrassairlines.com/monthly_news/2015/news_august_2015.htmlThere is a feature on Capital Airlines from 60 years ago in '55. This was the transition point between piston and the introduction of turbine power in their fleet with DC-3, DC-4 Constellation and Viscount aircraft serving the Eastern Seaboard of America. There is also a hoplist that approximately covers their routes from Cheboygan in the North down to Memphis at www.bluegrassairlines.com/feature_of_the_month/2015/capital_hoplist.html. Over the next few days the routes for a New Zealand Air Rally, or NZAR15 for short, will be added to the site. This will run over the last few days of September into October using a variation of the GAAR rules. The route will take us from Whenuapai down to Auckland, with a few radio fixes to keep us alert and twiddling dials, and the shortest runway being 3,599'. Any propellor driven aircraft produced before 1975 will be eligible. The test flight will be between the Nadi NDB and Nausori NDB, flown at 7,000' or lower at your choice if your planned cruising altitude is closer to tree hopping. Weather has been collected for both FS9 and FSX for these flights. While collecting the weather files it has been noticed that FS9 and FSX see slightly different weather at the same locations and times. Any complaints should be directed to Microsoft!

Urs, that is right. Thom, the pages are still being put together. Hopefully by the weekend at the latest work and other commitments will be out of the way.
Looking forward to having you both on the trip.
cheers, Allan

Uhug, your C-47 for GAAR 16 looks very KOOL, but you may need to pull her into the hangar paint shop to put a Big KIWI on the side also for GANZ 15. Great that you will be flying in NZ.

Urs, Great looking Kiwi, love the BIG eyes . Just a side note, my wife and I are booked on a 12 day DC-3 tour of NZ next March. If you wish to look on the Internet, search for Pacific Trailways NZ. Sorry Allan, now back to NZAR 15...... Cheers Rob

That might be a good idea David, there are a few high mountains in Fiji for the test flight and also in New Zealand for the rally. Power and climb my friend.
Cheers Rob

A small step for me, but a big question: Do the new zealanders like BBQ?

Hi Urs, Just like us Australians, the Kiwi's love their BBQ's and also Hangi's, where they dig a big hole in the ground, fill the bottom of the hole with heated glowing rocks, seal the food with large leaves and place over the rocks, cover again and cook for 3 to 4 hours. Seafood is another great fiest, fresh caught fish, Snapper is best, smoked in a smoke house, the smokey flavour through the fish is so nice. The Kiwi's also produce their own wines and also export, so lots of new tastes for you to try Urs. How does an Aussie know all this, my wife is a Kiwi. Cheers Rob

Hello Allan, thank you for your great work again. I find out, the LINK to the "Flightinformation" is not working. Is it to follow? Cheers Urs
