Well, the afternoon rolled around and we reboarded the bird for our flight to Bundaberg. We loaded up a spare Gypsy engine for our CEO's Dove and some melons (hope R. Lee doesn't know how many we got, he might want me to bring them back to him) and got ready to fire up the bird. Approaching our first waypoint, we got the following shot As the sun started to fully set behind us on the way to Gayndan, our chase plane photographer took a couple of shots of the setting sun reflecting off the plane. As it got dark, photos got harder to take, but he managed this one of us as we passed Gayndan. A local helicopter got the following pic of us as we completed our turn around on the runway at Bundaberg

Never one to rush in - and my keyboard is failing - anyhoo this is the arrival route followed by my DC-2 entry. Essentially a mix of historic routes and personally visited airports. Now off to get a refund for a keyboard currently jammed with CAPS ON and sundry keys not working half the TiMe.

have you ever tried a "Zuger Kirsch?" you will keel over!! (People from a neighboring country use it as an antifreeze mixture). nastrovje Urs Comrade Ugghhh, we serve that piece of cake to toddlers in prepatory kindergarten during winter time. Funny to see kapitalistny adults toppling over from such a small dose ;D The neighbouring country must have a mild winter climate. Our "Velvet brew" vodka can be used under arctic conditions upto minus 70 degr Celsius. The limited edition "Explosiv" by Babuschka is rarely available but we carry a case with us for recalcitrant pilots from the Dark Forces. nashledanou Capt. LEG 2 Chinchilla - Bundaberg "No sleep 'till Oshkosh" says the placard on N74589, referring to the hard work and long working days made by the two Brits that managed to put her back into the air in only 7 weeks, July 2010. The typical Australian red twilight settles in. It's gonna be a nightlanding! The last daylight reflecting on the instrument panel... time to switch over to instruments only.

Here's another one: LEG 4: Lady Elliot Island - Hamilon Island (via YWIS fuelstop) Full throttle we are slowly gaining speed... Mimimal fuel and still too heavy? Narrow safety margin... And again lots of sea.... and sea. Mast Island. Good reference point to check our course. Visibility decreasing. Hitting the mainland. Reckognizing the contours of the bay ahead, a slight heading correction is needed. This is fun ! Abeam Temple Island. In the misty distance, we can just make out Mackay harbor. Saint Bees Island on starboard. Again a good visual reference. Over Shaw Island. Hamilton somewhere close ahead. Appoaching downwind rwy 14. On final. How more tropical can this be? This was a long day of some challenging flying! Now to the hotel, take a dip in the pool and get some diner and beer. And beer!
