Dark when we arrived at Cairns and pulled off the runway. As you can tell by my screenshot, it was completely dark on my sim but not quite as dark on bgas001's sim.

A pananoramic shot of my 3 aircraft at YBCS My thanks to Andrew Godden for the planning and execution of the GAAR 2011. Great Job! Thanks also to John Lawler for the fireworks and Tom Goodrick for the FTimer. And a big thank you to all the pilots and virtual airlines who participated. Believe me, it wouldn't be much fun if you hadn't shown up.

Another Great Australian Air Rally comes sadly to a close. Thanks to all who make this annual event possible. I will now put my Kiwi bird back on her perch. As always my best flight seems to be the last one. Only 6 seconds error from target time, I won't even try to do that one again. It just wouldn't be the same. On final approach, fireworks look awsome A little wheel smoke and down safe once again. I will now sit down and plot the long trip back to Winnipeg,Manitoba, Canada

Ah ! fireworks ! that's great ! Finaly, I found where to put the BGL files... almost perfectly aligned quite perfectly aligned not at all perfectly aligned, Stupid french, didn't you know Aussies put the fireworks to make you loose ? look at your timer and look at the runway End of that Great Australian Rally, 2011 Version. A very fine one. At the nineth leg, Explorations lointaines et Coups d'États (Distant Explorations and Coups) is in the top ten. That's a good result if you consider that I did not use my weapons... Yes, I could have been allowed ! (but I did not ask) Next year I'll be back with another plane, I'll win and I will be the Great Master of the World, Eh-eh-eh-eh ! Thanks a lot to every one.

LEG 9: Chillagoe - Lizzard Island Cruising towards Mount Carbine. In- and out of clouds... makes it harder to fly straigt and level. At 6000 feet, Flinders Island. The turn over... Bewick Island. Lizzard Island on the horizon. ..and the end of another long, but scenic leg!

The last few shots... So That's why there is no circling to the north. The last evening of the GAAR, en-route Cairns. On the ground. Now to get this thing back to Coventry and prepare for GAAR 2012! I'm not sure we'll get there. I don't think my Nav. has left the UK yet!

Final leg to Cairns. Leaving Lizard Island and tucking up the gear. It's going to be a lovely evening cruise! Co-pilots view of the Great Barrier Reef and the mainland Australia on the horizon. Great light from the low sun. Over Spitfire Reef. Approaching the Cairns area. Time to prepare for the last landing. Parking at the west side of the airfield. THANKS EVERYBODY FOR ANOTHER GREAT GAAR! 'TILL WE MEET AGAIN IN 2012.
