Lots of interesting stuff around Fraser Island. I guess he's waiting for the tide to turn. I think this spoilt the skipper's whole day. I lovely sailing boat, but my co-pilot has no soul. I'm supposed to land on that? Finals to Lady Elliot.

YCCA YBUD Flown at 3000ft. Take off and head at 283 degrees to allow for wind. After flying for approx 10 mins found the A2 road visually and tune to 221kHz and turn to track NDB a few miles short of Miles airfield (YMLS)-though i never saw it out of window. The land rises up slightly tavelling to Gululmundi so climb to 3500ft for safe Minimums and continue this leg with A5 road to my left. Got visual fix on Frasers farm as we overfly .On sighting Tamroon Airfield turn right and track 072 radial away from TAM. Just beyond Sujeewong retune to GAY 284kHz and track GAY. 9 Knot headwind ( occasional gust 14 Kts) - I reckon I'll need all the time i've got. At D ykehead the ground changes and the myriad of river deltas lays out in front but still no obvious sightings to use as an aid and WOOH its getting dark!!! Pass over (Pic Above) Gayndah town and on to Bon accord - turn left - retune to 266kHz and track BUD. Multicom 119.6 for lights - airfield in sight running out of time so turn right over the state forest at elliot and round south of Kinkuna. Turn left for finals over Kinkuna for approach at 80Knots & land with extended 45Kt roll out (tail up) for time 92:02

Heron Island Helipad. Couldn't resist a fly-by. A touch and go was tempting but... Finals at Williamson. Too much autogen scenery. Now I've got a clear runway, but isn't it boring.

Early in the morning for Leg#6 - Alpha to Winton .. taxing to the holdingpoint Rwy 18 - another rainy day lining-up in crosswind 11KTS from the left - not easy! .. finally airborn at time 5.23 am .. trying to find my way - a lot of grey clouds Outback and.. .. rich farmland! Approaching Winton final Rwy 14 touch town - three minutes too early Parking at the "Clubhouse". Now a nice Breakfast, but I feel sorry for my Airplane. Everything is moisty and wet..

LEG 5: Hamilon Island - Alpha In the morning of departure, Hamilton Islands' ramp is crowded with GAAR participants. Almost no room for regular airliners! Start-up for a flight deep into Queensland. Lift-off! We spot another Dak on the left on the same heading which we slowly overtake. We are not alone! Found Alpha airfield. Turning overhead for a righthand circuit. There's that other GAAR participant coming in.

Coming into Lady Elliot Island with everything hanging out to slow me down to just above stall, otherwise it's a swimming lesson on the other side of the island. from the cockpit from my trusty spotter You just have to love short runways

Leg 06 : After that landing, I have to fix the gear >:(before 1300 hrs... Leg 07 : target time : 114.83 no problem to reach the way points... approaching YCTH (a little too low, and little too quickly maybe) I have been shooted ! Crazies Aussies ! Well... Above YLVK, begin circuit to the east (quite no wind and a building right west of the RW...) slow down to 88 KIAS, full flaps and wheels, made a circle just before the finale... and still 2 mn to loose ! So stay at 1500 feet, a little north of the RW, continue 1 mn, quick turn, finale for the 09, avoid the building... Run, Jean, run ! Touchdown, Brakes... F#@k ! target time.... Brakes, brakes, stop, and timer says 115.01

I like this one : departing from YBMH (Leg 5), the scenery is so beautiful that I made a circle (south of runway...)
