been getting in my two flight minimums ,seems that trips to doctors office , Golf ,and taking care of the wife, lawn care, just eats into flying time.

I was checking the latest NOAA weather radar to see if I would be shoveling in the morning, and noticed a section on ground snow measurement . I stumbled on to a very interesting site , not the measurement itself , but it included a listing of all aircraft used, there task function , and a list of all flights an airports used all over the united states. Talk about a job where you can legally fly low, snow measurement flight must be flown at 500 to 1000 FT above ground level. www.aoc.noaa.gov/aircraft.htm . Enough flights to keep a pilot busy !

Was having one of my moments when a glimmer of light shows in the light bulb above my head . since for the past years the test flights have taken place at KUNURRA (YPKU) maybe some one with skills could make a Bluegrass Airlines Australian out post and hanger scenery like was done for the Alaska division ,a place to have entries could get work done on aircraft and relax before the test flight and on too the starting points , the division could use it as a stop of for routes in the area.

Allen , I'm sure the Newbies would never forget the adventures of Capt. Zlogg and his band of misfits , I lift a glass of spirits to the Capitan , whom I am sure will take over his "Retirement Resort" and turn it into another way to get money from the capitalist . I think Babushka was the best looking female airframe/tractor mechanic the KGB cow droppers had ,really looked good after she shaved and a few slugs of Proppies brew . I miss the Capitan... salute

It is amazing how the new boss can find more work to be done than there ever was before retirement ! I 'm sure Capt. Zlogg was forced into flying the Cessna ,in order to infiltrate the capitalistic air space, landing at small airfields to find out who is flying what in the up coming GAAR. also remote landing fields to open new distribution points for Proppies kettle brew. Got lost while trying to replace the liquid in the magnetic compass with same brew.

A heads up , just noticed all information and download files are ready at there web sight .. so push the Blue Grass Gooney Birds out of the roost , put on the thinking caps ,and fly the challenging navigation problems and weather ..it is a great warm up for the navigation skills when the GAAR comes around..

I remember as a kid in the 50's flying the old 170b around northern Michigan using AM radio as a nav. aid on the Adf. waiting to hear the DJ announce the stations call sign so we knew we had the right tower on the map , it was my job ..

The freedom of being to choice where you wish to go and what to fly is the strong point of Blue Grass , I have been in the bush pilot Alaska division from the start and had a spell do to heart surgery I missed a few months of flying ,but was re activated with no problems. I log my two required Alaska flights ,then if I want I go to an Alaska air force base an fire up a Shooting Star or Dog Saber and go Russian Bear hunting , load up a Cargo load of fish and head to Seattle or can do a charter hop from Livingston county Michigan to Chicago Midway.. it is the versatility,, I agree the list of in active pilots is long and due to the age of most the active pilots will become longer maybe like DC-3 Airways we need a silent wings area to honor members who have passed on , then erase those who have not logged flights in the last 6 months. Scott wait till you fly your first GAAR ,see the pilots who fly from all parts of the world ,you will be proud to fly for Blue Grass ,and represent the your division , plus it is just fun.
