Jazzthom, can I ask what plane it is you're flying and do you have any scenery enhancements in your setup? One of the great things about looking at the screenshots is seeing new and unfamiliar aircraft that might be fun to fly and also real situations of scenery in different versions and enhancements.

reply to Simon!
Hi Buddy!
My aircraft is the C-119 Fairchild, so called "Flying Boxcar",...originally made by Mike Stone. The texture is the original "Flight of the Phoenix" version from the 1960s with James Stewart as the pilot Frank Townsend. I have made many improvements and added a completely new panel with many useful functions
the scenery enhancements are presented from Andrew and his GAAR team and within the last 5 years I made some improvements from other sites where they have scenery addons to bring life to the airports.....but I am still looking for better sceneries .......so Urs and Paul have the better sceneries I think, maybe they can help you with this.....
cheers and happy landings!
Thom

Flight Leg 10 is done, thanks for a great rally, Andrew. Looking forward to next year. By the way, if you are doing certificates I'd like one. Allen

. I surely do want to thank Andrew for all of his hard work and dedication to making this wonderful event happen! Doubtless there are many little background problems that crop-up, about which we, the players, have no idea nor concern, but which Andrew has to quietly handle.
Up here in the cold northern climes, the annual GAAR is *the* big event that lessens the winter blues for virtual pilots such as we. I'm already looking forward to next year's event.
Thank you very, very much, Andrew!
See you all in 2014.

Yes, thanks Andrew and all other participants, it's been great fun and I managed not to crash! Number 25 signing off (until next year).

And it is over for another year. Many thanks to Andrew and everybody who pitched in to make GAAR13 an enjoyable experience.
I was glad to see some challenging weather and the flight from Corryong to Merimbula was a highlight for me. In the Luscombe I tend to relax the golden rules a little, things like VFR visibility and Lowest Safe Altitude are shouldered aside due to the lack of speed and the manouverability of the steed. T'was good fun darting around among the hills. My other mount was the Bonanza V35 and I gave it a bit more respect.
And before any of you right minded rate payers preach to me, I would not carry on like that if the slipstream was whistling past and things were noisy and vibrating. I don't have to go any further than 30 miles north-west of home to have a demonstration of the possibilities, that is where a beautifully restored DH-84 slammed into a hillside in grey and cloudy weather just a few months ago.
The whole rally was a hoot with the arrival timing being a challenge and a half. I found it was not impossible when I got the V35 in on the dot at Launceston; my 'remarks' on the pirep were "EEEEEEE HAARRRRRRRR !!!" Quite a buzz as quite a few of you have discovered.
A disappointing aspect was that I failed to camp anywhere with the good Captain Zlogg, I was looking forward to getting a sip or three of Proppy's latest brew. It would have been a treat to discover what wicked blinding potion the Motherland has invented recently. Next GAAR it will have to be and I will be on kettle watch. So be warned and keep clear of any early morning departures !
The quality of the screenies was great and it is a scource of much frustration that I could not join in as I have so far failed to download anything from 'imageshack'. I guess I must be getting even more stupid, probably a DOB issue.
Much fun, thanks guys and gal/s ---------- now for Mutley's wanderings, Ed

The die is cast! On the ladder #42 - I'm quite happy with this result, judging from the fact that my little Luscombe had to work hard against dark background's, exempli gratia: very strong headwind conditions and high Alpine altitudes!! Not easy for an old Continental 65hp engine!! Leg#7 broke one's neck!!!
I think, Ed Burke had suffered the same problems with his Luscombe as well ;D .. a bit malicious joy..
Next year I will show up with an multistage missile e.g. Saturn V Rocket - good in speed and precisely accurate on landings! (they are old too now!!)
Once more, thanks to the committee of the GAAR 2013 - See you next year, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! Urs Hug
