Looking forward to flying down for the event from Canada again this year. So are all the runways going to support my Lancaster or am I going to have to fly OL bony wing (Corsair) again. Could take the C46 out of the hanger but man is there a lot of dust on the ol girl. Gonna have to load up and leave soon or it is going to be tight t make it for the usual start date. Good to see everyone gearing up once again.

Capt.Zlogg is most likely enjoying an extended stay at one of the mother lands siberian resort complexies for distirbuting the secret kettel brew,alias rocket fuel and pilot antifreeze to the capitalist the last GAAR...Smitty? was a test pilot for Proopie's brew,might be still trying to recover(I only used it for removing bugs from the wind screen)

Hello, This will be the first time i wil participate in the GAAR Rally. Looks like serieus fun to me. At Schiphol Oost my fully restored DC-3 in KLM livery is waiting to be transported to Australia.... ;D See you all in Australia.

Normally about this time of year, I'm in the state of hoping for someone to release something suitably eleagant and interesting (and preferably British) for the GAAR, but it's already happened. Introducing Keith Paine's Percival Q6/Petrel, available at www.britsim.com:- 6/7-seater low-wing monoplane with DH Gipsy Queen engines, cruises at about 160kts with a fixed undercarriage*, it looks like a cross between a Dragon Rapide and an Airspeed Oxford. Delightful to fly, the only snag seems to be that if you want an autopilot, you'll have to do it yourself! *I understand KP has a retractable gear version "in the works"

On a foggy and cold winterday last week, my "old-timer" left Zurich-Airport well stored in the big belly of the AN-124 eastbound for Dubai.. .. and after a brief rest in Dubai, finally they arrived Darwin Intl. at night-time Dec.30-2011 And here she is! The SAAB 91D “Safir” HB-DBL This model began service in 1961 as an entry-test aircraft for Flight Instructor courses in the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation, where it stayed until 1990. In 1979 major modifications were done to the engine, propeller, instrumentation, wing-skin and cowl-flaps. The aircraft was at that time also downgraded from aerobatic to utility category. In 1996, five years after it had been sold, the aircraft was disassembled and put into storage! Luckily it was found by savvy and skilled airmen who restored it and put it back into service in July of 2005. Since then it flies high for the joy of its owners and now for the whole FS community! This beautiful aircraft is nowadays located in Grenchen, Switzerland and my this year aircraft for the GAAR 2012. Dimensions Span 10,6 m (34 ft 9 in) Length 7,9 m (25 ft 11 in) Height 2,2 m ( 7 ft 3 in) Wing area 13,6 m2 (146 sq. ft.) In MSFS, Saidor is SDR. Morehead is MHD. Some MSFS's airport IDs don't equal to real.

Is Saidor's code SDI ? Is Morehead's code MHY ? --- Hideyuki Ueoka A number of airports in Papua New Guinea only have a three letter airport code, however, they do not correspond to the IATA three letter airport code system. To the best of my knowledge and research, the codes of SDR for Saidor and MHD for Morehead are correct for both the real world and MSFS. Cheers Andrew

Paupa New Guinea ,make my airplane choice a chance at best,was going with a Pt-17 and a Cessna 170b but both run out of power above 11,000Ft and the mountains can run 14,000,back to the hanger!
