I just thought, I will never make it. I had to re-install all the Software I need to make my FSX running as I like to have it. After hours..ready again! And here she is, my this year GAAR-Comrade: The Luscombe 8A Silvaire. The Luscombe Model 8 was one of those classics in aviation that was recognized for its nice lines, good performance, and excellent flying characteristics from its inception 1n 1938. A two-place side-by-side aeroplane, the Model 8A was re-marketed shortly after World War II with the intention of fulfilling the "aeroplane-in-every-garage" ideal. After re-assembling, some new paintings, re-test and double re-test, I soon was ready for my first flight. Take-off with success! After some turns over the field, I was pretty satisfied! Even the landing with x-wind 9kts. Again, I was very pretty satisfied! Now, she will rest for a for a bit - until we start!! Cheers Urs

Simon, You will have the chance to fly under the 'Old Coat Hanger" again during the event proper. As Katie has been relegated to ground crew, does that mean she's not flying at all? Cheers Andrew

Wow! Here we are again down under for another GAAR! Jesus, its great to be back!! An Capt. Zlogg is here too! Wonderful! It cannot really be said to be a GAAR without him! Andy, thanks for setting up yet another great GAAR event. I'm hopefully just one of the members of British Airways Virtual who will be signing up for this. A week or so ago, I virtually flew the 747 Freighter down to Sunshine Coast (YBSU) to see a very special friend of mine who shared a children's home with me for many years when we were both young kids. She emigrated to Australia's Gold Coast some years ago with her family and now lives in Noosa QLD. So I chose to visit her "virtually" by flying the 747 into YBSU (runway was fine with a low ZFW) and at the same time, I delivered the C47 hoping that the Rally would be on again. Here is a pic of the 747 approaching Australia as the dawn came up:- And here is the Douglas C47 (DC-3) that will fly this year's event, as it has before:- Looking forward to this one sir! Regards, Lee

Hello everybody! Unfortunately, I can't participate in the GAAR this year... It's for the first time since Bluegrass started the event... what is it...8 years ago? Or is it 9? Currently I am on my way to Auckland in a DC-3. Started in Lydd, UK, re-flying the 1936 route of miss Jean Batten. This was done in real last October/November. See: www.dc3-antipodes.com/?p=464. Anyway, I wish all of you pilots all the best in this years' GAAR! Keep it safe and have fun ;D Cheers, Paul below some pics of my own 'Airscapade' :
